Food
Feeling hungry? You don't have to settle for a hot dog like some other shows. We will have a variety of delicious, reasonably-priced food and beverages for sale inside the stadium gates. Sit and eat and listen to live Hawaiian entertainment.
Or try one of the local restaurants within walking distance. We'll be happy to stamp your hand so you can leave and re-enter. |
Entertainment
On Friday and Saturday at lunch time and in the late afternoon, we provide musical entertainment by talented Hawaiian performers. Do you love orchids but your spouse doesn't? They can enjoy food and entertainment while you shop for that orchid that's calling your name. These entertainers performed at the 2019 show:
Puna Taiko
If you like percussion, you'll love the Puna Taiko drummers. Under the direction of Paul Sakamoto, this youthful group includes students from Keaau Middle, Keaau High, Waiakea High, Kamehameha-Hawaii and UH Hilo. They perform the traditional Japanese art of Taiko (ensemble drumming) with enthusiasm and style. Click on the video for a short sample from a prior show. |
Orchid Isle Orchestra
This group of students under Artistic Director Cathy Young has performed regularly at the East Hawaiian Cultural Center and for various community events, including joint concerts with the University of Hawaii at Hilo chorus. |
