Thousands of orchids in displays created by top-notch growers and amateurs entice audiences in this three day orchid extravaganza at the Edith Kanakaole Multipurpose Stadium. A sales area offers all sorts of orchid and plant related products plus, of course, delectable orchids for purchase including some you won’t find in your typical retail garden store or nursery. Orchid and orchid-related product vendors are still being accepted for this event so bring your plants to display or put up an informational booth for your industry-related business. Application deadline is July 21.

Show times are 9 a.m. – 9 p.m. Friday, 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. Sunday, admission is by donation of $4 at the door daily, kids are free. A special Preview Party with gourmet foods, including a huge cheese table, wines, Hawaii soft drinks and coffee plus live music is planned by the society as a benefit for the Hospice of Hilo on Thursday August 7 at 7 p.m. Ticket prices and outlets TBA.

I cordially invite you to participate in our 56th annual show and sale. The theme for this year’s show is “For the Love of Orchids” and will again be held at the Edith Kanaka`ole Multi-Purpose Stadium in Hilo, commencing with a private preview party on Thursday, August 7, 2008. The show will be open to the public on Friday through Sunday, August 8 through August 10, 2008.

Every year we want to share our members’ love of orchids with the public, by displaying spectacular orchids, providing demonstrations on growing orchids and flower arranging, and offering an exciting shopping area where top quality plants may be purchased. Our past shows have been deemed world class and have drawn many visitors from the entire state as well as from other states and parts of the world.

You can download the vendor/ exhibitor packet, sponsorship opportunity information and advertising order forms. Orchid Society by either placing an ad in the show program or becoming a show sponsor this year

First priority will be given to orchid exhibitors/ vendors. The committee may allow related, but non-orchid products at their discretion. Deadline for applications is July 1, 2008. We hope to see you at the show.
